Will 2 Work is committed to the concept and implementation of Vocational Services that offer the minimum amount of intervention necessary while increasing independence and choice for individuals in the program. Vocational Program Services provide a positive setting in which to meet this goal. It is a flexible and individualized service which can be adapted to meet each person’s individual needs while maximizing the individual’s control over their own life. The Vocational Services Program also provides individuals with the assistance needed to find and maintain employment in the community. The program is designed to assist individuals in developing the work skills and social behaviors needed to acquire and maintain community employment consistent with the Individual Plan (IP).

  1. A person with a disability is placed in a job in a community business which best suits his/her abilities and preferences.  Training is provided on the job site in job skills and work related behaviors, including social skills by a job coach.  As the employee gains skills and confidence the job coach gradually spends less time at the worksite.  Support is never completely removed.  The vocational services agency furnishing the job coach is always available to the employer for re-trainings, assisting with dealing with challenging behaviors, supplying periodic consultations, and providing flexibility for change. Our goal is to work with various community providers to give optimum service and support for enriching the quality of life of the individuals we serve.

  2. Work Opportunity Tax Credit, which allows employers tax credits of up to $2,400 for hiring people with disabilities.

  3. The Small Business Tax Credit IRS Code Section 44, Disabled Access Credit, which helps small businesses cover the cost of making their businesses accessible, up to a maximum benefit of $5,000.
