Home Sweet Home Assisted Living, Home Sweet Home DD, Inc., and Will 2 Work are businesses developed by Dr. Meta K. Townsend.  Dr. Townsend was born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in Severna Park, Maryland. She is a graduate of Severna Park High School. Her educational credentials consist of the following: two B.A. degrees in Political Science and African Area Studies from the University of Maryland Baltimore, County (1981); A Masters Degree in Political Science and Africa Area Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1984; An Masters of Philosophy in Political Science-International Affairs in 1989 from the George Washington University and a Ph.D. in Political Science major concentrations in International Political Economy and International Affairs from George Washington University, 1991.

   She began her career in 1984 working in various national security positions at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., which ultimately led to receiving a position as a Senior Foreign Policy Officer for the Middle East and South East Asia. She has lived and worked extensively in the Middle East and Africa.

   In addition to an international career, in 1994, Dr. Meta Townsend became a university professor. She was an Assistant Professor of Political Science, History and Economics at Wagner College in Staten Island, New York and later became the Chairperson for the Social Sciences Division.  While there, she was also Director of the Gender Studies Program. She also developed and had approved by the New York State Higher Education Board an under graduated degree program in International Affairs. Dr. Townsend left Wagner College in 1999 to become the Acting Chairperson of the undergraduate and graduate programs of the Department of Political Science at Morgan State University and served on the faculty as an Associate Professor of Political Science.

   In addition, Dr. Meta Townsend is the author of Political Economy Issues In Tanzania (1998, Mellen University Press), and a contributing author to the edited volume entitled Notable American Women (2004, Harvard University Press) as well as other various scholarly articles and presentations focusing on political and international affairs.

   Finally, Dr. Meta Townsend is currently the President of Home-Sweet-Home, Inc. This is a business enterprise focusing on providing eldercare and services in assisted living facilities. Her business endeavors has expanded to include providing care and homes for the developmental disabled. In addition, she is President of Home-Sweet-Home Consulting and Management Corporation. She provides consulting services to individuals and corporations seeking to provide care and services to the senior and developmental disabled populations.
